Scripture Struck @ Mt 4:18-22

On Discipleship

We are the modern disciples of today. Jesus calls us to follow Him still.

As before, so now He calls us to listen to Him. His words are our daily guide; His presence our strength; His dream our mission.

It entails developing deep friendship with other disciples ; having the willingness to be mentored with the readiness to give support.

Let us then walk together as companions in a lifetime journey of faith! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 21:34-36

1st Sunday of Advent:
On anxieties of life!

One product of modern life is anxiety. There are those who suffer from anxiety disorder. They suffer from constant worry, stress and unrealistic fears.

The fact is: anxieties will never go away completely. The challenge is managing those feelings.

To keep calm: Exercise; Think of positive thoughts; Surround yourself with happy people; Get involve in you community; Read Scriptures; Pray! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 21:34-36

The opposite of vigilance is complacency. Its the attitude of not wanting to move forward in life.

Life is also about looking for new opportunities, learning new things and making things happen.

When complacency sets in, one stagnates. It may be detrimental to career, relationship or one's spiritual life.

Vigilance demands faith, courage and sacrifice to always move ahead. ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 21:29-33

Fig Tree Lessons!

Everything has a season. Every fruit tree bears its fruit on its proper time.

Times change. Even people change. The ones you love will not always be loving and loyal.

But strive to be loving and loyal. In the end its not about you and them; but between you and Him.

God is faithful. He never changes because He is not a season! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Dn 6:12-28

Daniel was fed to the lions because he kept his faith. He was discovered praying!

We live in a time when there is a systematic effort to let God seem to disappear. Advertisements entice us of many things for sale. Many are embracing a materialistic vision of life.

Prayer responds to our basic need for the infinite only God can fill.

Like Daniel we turn to prayer and give space in our hearts to a Being greater than ourselves!😊

Scripture Struck @ Lk 21:5-11

Signs of the End!

Everyday we grow older. But the process happens slowly, imperceptively. The sign becomes obvious every year as our number grows.

But more than counting our years, let's count our blessings. More years means more experience, more friends, more memories.

Life is lived better backwards! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 21:1-4

On surplus wealth!

We can spend money either on stuffs or on experiences. Stuffs last longer while experiences are temporary.

But experiences create significant memories that can last for a lifetime.

Spend your money wisely.
Invest on building long lasting relationships! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Ps 93:1

The Lord is king!

A king rules.
His rule is absolute.
The danger of an absolute leader is that he rules by his vanity. Everything is about him.

But Jesus is a King who loves, and serves and suffers for doing so.

Viva Cristo Rey! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 20:27-40

On the Resurrection - life after death.

We study to work.
We work to make money.
We make money to live.
We live to be happy.

But life is more than happiness.
Life is about having meaning and purpose.

That's being forward-looking! ðŸ˜Š

Scripture Struck @ Lk 19:45-48

Jesus got angry! In this instance because people were disrespectful of the Temple.

Sometimes we get angry for selfish reasons. But if anger is directed against the spread of evil, abuse, injustice, commercialism, corruption; that's a righteous anger.

May we channel our indignation to make our world better. ðŸ˜Š
